What you type stays in your browser
The tools on tools.best run on your device. The values you enter are not sent to our server and are not included in analytics.
Tools that contact another service
- The currency converters (currency converter, euro to dollar, pounds to dollars, pesos to dollars, yen to dollar) request the latest European Central Bank reference rates from
api.frankfurter.dev. The request is the same for every visitor: it contains neither the amount you typed nor the currencies you chose. - The Bitcoin and Ethereum converters request the current price from
api.coingecko.com. The request names the coin and the three currencies offered (USD, EUR, GBP), never the amount. - The IP address tool asks
ipapi.cofor your public IP address, approximate location and network provider, and falls back toapi.ipify.org(IP address only) if that fails. Both services see your IP address, as any website you open does. The lookup runs only when you press the button. - The synonym finder sends the word you look up to the Datamuse API at
api.datamuse.com.
Saved on your device
Some tools remember a preference, such as your preferred units or a list you entered, in your browser's local storage so it is still there on your next visit. It never leaves your device and you can clear it in your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which tools are used. It records events such as "tool used" or "result copied", never the content of a tool. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland analytics stays switched off until you allow it in the banner; you can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, time, page requested) to keep the service running and secure.
Accounts
There are none. You do not sign up, and we do not ask for your name or email address.
