Where the rate comes from

When the page loads, your browser requests the euro foreign exchange reference rates of the European Central Bank (ECB) from api.frankfurter.dev, a free service that republishes them. The request is the same for every visitor: it does not contain your amount or the currencies you picked. Under the result you see the date the rates apply to and the time your browser fetched them.

The ECB sets its reference rates once per working day, at around 16:00 Central European Time, and publishes them for information only. They are not live market rates, and they are not the rate you get when you exchange money: banks, card companies and exchange offices add their own margin or fee.

No rate is built into this page. If the request fails, the converter shows no result instead of an old or made-up number.

  • One dollar is 1 ÷ 1.10 = 0.9091 EUR.

Euro to Dollar Converter: FAQ

What is the euro to dollar rate today?
The converter above shows it, with its date. It is the European Central Bank's reference rate, set once per working day at around 16:00 Central European Time, so on a weekend it is Friday's rate.
How do I convert euros to dollars by hand?
Multiply the euro amount by the number of dollars per euro. To go from dollars to euros, divide by the same number.
Will I get this rate at my bank or with my card?
Usually not exactly. The reference rate carries no margin. Banks and card networks set their own rates and may add a foreign transaction fee, so the amount on your statement is normally a little worse than the result here.
Why is no rate shown?
The page has no built-in rate. If your browser could not reach the rate service, nothing is shown; press Refresh rate to try again.
